The Friday Five

Your weekly dose of weekend adventure:

1a. Sample Beers: Brews and Blooms isn’t your typical beer garden! On Saturday, September 22, bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy a casual evening of craft brew samplings, food trucks, lawn games, and live music at the San Antonio Botanical Garden.

But wait! The beer fun isn’t over yet!

1b. Kick off Oktoberfest: To celebrate everyone’s favorite beer-drinking season, Dorćol is throwing a party and releasing their HighWheel Dunkelweizen, a Bavarian dark wheat ale. They’ll also be pouring their Hefeweizen, Kolsch, IPA, Saison, Black Kolsch, Porter, and of course Kinsman Rakia cocktails.

2. Celebrate the Fall Equinox: Enjoy an eclectic mixture of uplifting contemporary acoustic songs, ancient instrumentation, improvisation, and contemplation celebrating the Fall Equinox. Featuring the words and music of songwriter/performance artist Rudi Harst and The Circle Band.

3. Grab a New Book: The weather is going to be hot, humid, and rainy so grab a new book for fall and stay inside. I’ve rounded up a list of all my favorites for any preference you might have.

4. Go Fish: Want to try something new? Stop by for a free event where you can learn and practice fishing basics step-by-step and improve your angling skills.

5. Explore Paranormal Activity: Get ready for a real haunted toys exhibit, psychics and mediums, ghost photography, and much more! ‘Tis the season to be spooky!
