The Friday Five

Your weekly dose of weekend adventure:

Celebrate Diwali: The Diwali San Antonio “Festival of Lights” is to celebrate Indian culture and traditions by featuring traditional Indian dance, entertainment, food and booths selling goods from various parts of India. In India, the Diwali celebration is akin to New Year’s Eve and it represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance.

Tango with Vines: Tango of the Vines is a celebration of the senses that will showcase the delicious and diverse cuisine of San Antonio alongside the palate pleasers of Texas winemakers. Tantalize your taste buds while topping it off with the best of local wines, brews, and expertly handcrafted cocktails.

Wrestle Your Weekend: The Turner Club is hosting River City Wrestling with a night of wrestling called “It’s Good to Be the King.” World Wrestling Entertainment Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler, is set to appear with Colt Cabana, RCW Women’s Champion Rebel, “The SmokeShow” Scarlett Bordeaux, and more. The event will also include a match between two of lucha libre’s best, The Laredo Kid vs. “Super-Mex” Hernandez.

Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos: There are so many celebrations this weekend that you have not excuse for a boring weekend. Choose from the Pearl, Woodlawn Lake, Hemisfair, Say SíCentro Cultural Aztlan, or celebrate with Urban-15.

Explore the Veteran Art Show: Fourteen veteran artists, four veteran authors, and a veteran band, Three Beards, will combine their talents for the Thank You For Your Service Veteran Art Show at Patriot’s Casa Texas A&M San Antonio.
