Your Guide to 4th of July Celebrations

Yes, the 4th of July is in the middle of the week and it’s super inconvenient. However, this doesn’t mean you should stay in on your Wednesday off. I’ve rounded up some fun places to spend the 4th. Check out all the events below:

The Alamo: The Alamo will be hosting kid-friendly living history demonstrations from readings of the Declaration of Independence to corn husk doll making. Plus, live music from the Fort Sam 323rd Army Band.

Fiesta Texas: Amusement parks are a classic American tradition and the Coca-Cola July 4th Fest has everything you need for a star-spangled visit including exclusive ride times, fireworks, festive foods, and more!

Golf Club of Texas: Festivities include a firework show, cornhole, giant Jenga, giant connect 4, glow-in-the-dark putting, bocci ball and more! You can also enjoy live music, hamburger & hotdog buffet, cookies, chips, and sodas.

Market Square: The 4th of July will be celebrated for an entire week at Freedom Fest at Market Square. Listen to local performances by local country, jazz, and Tejano musicians while enjoying a local assortment of food trucks.

The Missions: Baseball is a decidedly American pastime, so what better way to spend the most patriotic day of the year than to watch the Missions go head-to-head with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals. After the game, the event takes a Texan turn with a performance by country act The Eli Young Band and a fireworks display.

The Rustic: Celebrate with live music by the Steve Helms Band and Friends and order a beer flag for the troops. Choose from Real Ale Firemans #4, Miller Lite and Legal Draft Nowhere But Texas. All proceeds will go to the Pat Tillman Foundation’s efforts to empower military veterans committed to public service. All veterans who go to this event will receive a free Rustic Burger.

Schertz: The festivities in Schertz include a pie-eating contest, a “freedom 5K” race and live music from the Jesse Stratton Band. Spectators can enjoy the city’s fireworks show at 9:15 p.m. while lounging on a float in the Pickrell pool. Wristbands should be purchased in advance for pool seating.

SeaWorld: In honor of Independence Day, guests will get into the patriotic spirit with the colorful fireworks display at Bayside. This stunning mix of pyrotechnics is set to a triumphant musical score. This jaw-dropping show will illuminate SeaWorld’s skyline and captivate guests with its spectacular display of colorful flames and twinkling sparks. Enhance your experience with reserved seating and an exclusive picnic.

Seguin: Seguin’s Fourth of July parade is the Biggest Small-Town Fourth of July Parade in Texas. Other festivities include the Freedom Fiesta, fireworks, food, live music, and more!

Sound Cream: Grab a picnic blanket and head on over to Pearl Park, where Austin’s DJ Manolo Black will be mixing our queen Selena with the most danceable Tejano, cumbia and reggaeton beats from a vintage AirStream trailer. If you need a little liquid courage before you start bustin’ a move—don’t fret. Bottling Department will have drink specials in honor of the holiday. If you’re not ready to forfeit the traditional BBQ completely, The Granary ‘Cue & Brew will also be serving up some BBQ sliders that will probably bring old Uncle Sam to tears of joy.

Viva Tacoland: Head out to Tacoland to sample Jim Beam’s All American whiskey and hear DJ Cruz spinning on the MainStage. You are sure to see some fireworks from the surrounding neighborhood.

Windcrest: Windcrest’s official Independence Day party features free hot dogs, apple pie, and drinks while they last. There also will be live music and a parade.

Woodlawn Park: This is San Antonio’s Official Independence Day Celebration and it is free! This year, The Celebration will feature the “Firecracker Fit-Family Walk/Run”, Free Zumba, Carnival games and rides, face-painters, and children’s activities and workshops. There will also be live entertainment including the US Air Force Band of The West, and local Selena Tribute Act, Bidi Bidi Banda. There will be plenty of July-Fourth food to enjoy so you can enjoy a plate while you take in the highlight of the night–The H-E-B fireworks spectacular!
