The Friday Five – NYE Guide

Your weekly dose of weekend adventure. If you still don’t have plans for NYE there is still time to make a plan to ring in 2018 and San Antonio’s Tricentennial.

1. Attend the official Tricentennial Party: The Tricentennial Commission, the City of San Antonio and Bexar County will host a New Year’s Eve Celebration and the kick-off of San Antonio’s 300th birthday celebration. This free concert will take place in Hemisfair, and features a variety of local, regional, and national talents. Starting at 4 pm, families will enjoy free admission to the festival grounds that will feature interactive art, games, music and live theatrical performances. A wide selection of food and drink options await grown-up party-goers. VIP tickets are also available.

2. Find the perfect New Year’s Eve Party: If you don’t want to go downtown then check out the NYE party at The Bonham Exchange, Kremlin, Hotel ValenciaThe Draft Station,  Heat or Francis Bogside.

3. Watch a Movie in the Park: Looking for a way to relax before all the NYE festivities then pack up your blankets and chairs to enjoy the last Holiday movie in the park, Frozen. This event was rescheduled to this Saturday due to rain so don’t miss this second chance!

4. Keep the Holiday Spirit Alive: We all know that Christmas is the season of giving so why not keep the spirit going? Check out a few of my favorite ideas here.

5. Recover in Style: After the late night on New Year’s Eve why not refuel in style with a jazz brunch at Rosella at the Rand. Seating is first come, first serve and the brunch menu and brunch cocktails will be served from 10 AM – 4 PM.
