1. Scream for Ice Cream: Grab tickets for Dorcol ‘s 3rd annual Official Ice Cream of San Antonio Competition. Chefs and artisan ice cream makers from across San Antonio will use their culinary skills to create delectable frozen treats using Dorćol’s award-winning Kinsman Apricot Rakia. Admission gets you ice cream samples for the night with ticket proceeds benefiting the Contemporary Art Month non-profit. Get a ticket and come vote for your favorite to be crowned the Taster’s Choice!
2. Check out the San Antonio Stars: Friday, August 25, the San Antonio Stars will host Fan Appreciation Night. Watch the game and enjoy Dollar Drink Night presented by Bud Light and the San Antonio Current. Domestic beer and soda are $1 all night, along with discounted appetizers at a pre-game happy hour at Rock & Brews. Come on, grab a seat!
3. Celebrate National Dog Day: The Friendly Spot Ice House will be partnering with Independence Brewing to celebrate National Dog Day all weekend long. Look for a break in the rain and jump to have a drink with mans best friend. A portion of the proceeds will go to Service Dogs, Inc. However, if the rain ruins your plans you can always celebrate this way!
4. Watch the Fight: Don’t miss the miss any of the action! The upcoming fight between undefeated eleven-time five-division professional boxing world champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. and current UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor. Check out “The Money Fight” at any of these places.
5. Stay home: Hurrican Harvey has got everyone on edge, but that doesn’t mean you should waste your weekend. Make a this. Watch this. Eat this. If you get bored, try this.
